About the Artist

Anjo Lafin is the moniker of an artist specialising in alternative computer art. She has worked as a computer analyst/programmer and has lived in England, Africa, New Zealand and Australia. She currently resides in Tasmania.

Anjo likes to tease perception and provide visual excitement in a surreal way.  The result can be digital art as theatre. Imaginary beings confront you like actors, landscapes draw you in and surprise you with imaginative details, patterns seduce. Leave behind the gallery catalogue that attempts to explain the inexplicable. Just bring an open mind and prepare to be entertained. Yes, ART IS FUN. It also has its somber side. Anjo explores many territories.

The artist uses a variety of tools. A graphics tablet with a pressure sensitive pen combined with the use of packages like Painter that can detect pressure and stroke attributes aid digital painting. In addition she has 3-D and fractal software. Sometimes photographic elements are used in her work as well as scanned or photographed parts of more conventionally produced drawings and paintings. She likes to blend many techniques in the creation of her images.
