About the Artist

Penny was born in 1961 in Sydney, New South Wales.  Penny moved from Sydney to Perth in 1994 to continue her art practice and lecture for the West Australian School of Art & Design. She is a graduate of the University of NSW and the city Art Institute (Sydney). She had attended further studies in drawing at St. Martins School of Art (London) and was an ArtsWA grant recipient to participate in the 1997 New York School of Art Drawing Marathon (Adelaide) Penny won the 1996 Albany Art Prize, 1997 Kimberley Drawing Prize and the 1997 East Fremantle Art Prize.
