About the Artist

"Born, 23 September 1965, Frankston, Victoria, Australia. I currently work from a studio in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, where I have lived since 1994. In 1986, I graduated with distinction in painting and print making at Royal Melbourne Iinstitute of Technology (RMIT), Melbourne, Victoria. I worked from a studio in St Kilda, Victoria until 1989 before travelling and working for 3 years in Southern Asia and Europe. Public collections with my work include; Art Bank, RMIT, Commercial Union and Shantou University, China."

Brief Artwork Description:

These Works are created from observation of the subject and through intuitive, emotional responses. Each subject used, whether it be landscape, the figure or still life, is a vehicle for looking into the processes of formation, evolution and dissipation beyond the fixed, physical expression of nature. I want to encourage the eye to move into the image as well as see the overall unity of the composition. As the content of these Works form and reform, they explore the way we see and experience the visual world and what we understand to be the true nature of what we observe.
