Artist's Statement

I have had 32 exhibitions of my paintings across France, Italy, Germany, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and India.  Some of my works are placed in the Archives in Germany. Last year, I was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, London.

In addition, as an illustrator of books for children, I have illustrated over 1000 books over the past few years.

I have painted largely on striking Indian themes in the past, including calligraphic works based on Kabir, the Isovasya Upanishad and the Bhagwad Geeta. This has helped me to obtain a permanent place for some of my works in the Archives at Selb, Germany. My last solo exhibition in New Delhi was in 2004 at the India Habitat Center.

My last exhibition was at the Galerie Leela in Mumbai in March 2005. This exhibition - titled "Thaarro Thar - The Desert Beckons" was very well received indeed.
