Lillian was born in Canada in 1954.

Qualifications:

Master of Arts (Visual Arts), Curtin University of Technology, 1996 (received Postgraduate Visual Culture Award).
Master of Museum Studies, University of Toronto, 1992 (received University of Toronto Open Master’s Fellowship and Ontario Graduate Scholarship).
Bachelor of Arts with Honours, Concordia University, Montreal, 1985 (awarded medal for most outstanding graduating student in Interdisciplinary Studies).
One-Year Certificate Program, Brooklyn Museum Art School, New York, 1982 (received Robert Smithson Memorial Scholarship).
Certificate Program in Sculpture, Banff Centre School of Fine Arts, Canada, 1981 (received Banff Centre Scholarship)
4-Year Diploma in Sculpture, Alberta College of Art, Canada, 1981 (received Sculpture Club Scholarship and Arts Association of Calgary Travelling Scholarship).
