About the Artist:
I was born in Lourenzo Marques, now Maputo,
Mozambique, in 1961. In 1974, I emigrated to Johannesburg, South
Africa, where I lived until 1982. It was in 1982 that I moved to
Portugal, and now reside in Setubal.
1980 - Studied Graphic Design & Fine Art. After school I went on to
experiment with different schools of visual art, where I perfected
my talent and skill for painting nudes and portraiture. I also
gained vast experience in Technical Illustration, Graphic Design,
Fashion Design and Interior Decorating.
1984 - Worked as Graphic Artist, Freelance Fashion Designer,
Freelance Illustrator and Designer in two leading Portuguese
Advertising Agencies for several years, while continuing with my oil
painting at every opportunity. Although I devoted all these years to
illustration and Graphic Arts, I never abandoned my desire to return
to fine art.
1990 – 2000 - Took commissions for portraiture and figurative
paintings.
Since 2001 until today I have been painting more seriously
full-time.
