About the ArtistArtist, teacher, curator and writer. After completing 5 years of full-time study in England Lesley worked as a freelance graphic designer and art teacher. Between 1973 and 1983 she was Head of Art at Fremantle College of TAFE and Art Coordinator at Karratha College of TAFE in the Pilbara. Lesley then lived and painted in the Fiji Islands until 1986. Since her return to Western Australia she has lectured in the visual arts, designed art courses, worked as a voluntary guide at the Art Gallery of Western Australia and continued with her art practice. Lesley has had 13 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows in Australia and overseas, where she is represented in many public and private collections. She is a pioneer of the theme exhibition in Western Australia. With each of her solo exhibitions over a 20 year period taking on a different area of inquiry - be it place or concept. She has won a number of prizes and awards and is documented in a number of significant Australian art publications. In January 2002 Lesley returned to live and work in the Pilbara.
