About the Artist
Marianna has enjoyed painting and drawing since
a child.
Having the eyes to quickly see beauty, whether it be a scene, an
emotion, special moments between people, animals, it's all around
us. Then capturing this, preserving on canvas forever.
Marianna likes fine art, seeing abstraction as distortion.
Portrait are especially challenging, for the artist must reveal the
sitter's inner light, personality or soul, a strong sense or feeling
about the subject, unlike the visual image of a photo.
Some years ago Marianna realized she was being asked to paint or
draw people passed on; this has become a specialty, giving much
comfort and joy to the family.
Almost like saying that although these people are not physically
around us, they are nonetheless existing in another way, not gone at
all.
Marianna paints in many mediums and enjoys various subject matter,
portraiture being the preference probably due to a love for all
fellow men.
