About the ArtistThroughout her life, painting has been Veeno’s passion. After many years of meditating and being in Asia, she fell in love with the ancient art form of Mandala painting. She finds the circle and the center, where the dance of life takes place, tremendously fascinating. She understands her Mandalas as Beauty Pointing to Truth. If Veeno could explain her Mandalas, she would not paint them. Every Mandala is a journey into the unknown. It happens through her openness and receptivity to the unexplainable. Veeno does not paint out of a vision. She is always surprised where the Mandala leads her. Although the symbols and color combinations that come are not explainable, they radiate a profound energy. Veeno’s first significant Mandala exhibition was held in 1999 at Galerie 418 in Steckborn, Switzerland. Since then, her work started spreading around the world. During March 2001, Veeno was initiated to create Energy Symbols for meditation and healing purposes. These are specific Mandala designs, based on Sacred Geometry. She calls them Light Matrix Energy Symbols. "Mandalas are one of the most beautiful excuses to create art. Gurdjieff used to divide art into 'objective' and 'subjective' art. Picasso, Tschaikowsky etc. are 'subjective' artists, i.e. they throw out their subjective emotions, sensations of pleasure and frustrations. The architects who created the Taj Mahal, on the other hand, the composers of sacred music and the temple dancers are creating 'objective' art, since they try to evoke moods in the beholders and listeners which open them for the mysteries of existence. Veeno definitely belongs to the small group of 'objective' artists." |
