About the Artist
June Zent's passion for her subjects was nurtured by her early biological studies at the College of William and Mary in Virginia. Learning of the balance in nature helped instil a deep appreciation and respect for the environment, and the gave the ability to combine natural subjects with a humanistic touch. To draw and paint every living subject with accuracy and feeling is June's goal, to capture wildlife portraits surrounded in their natural settings.
June was raised in West Palm Beach, Florida, USA, and attended elementary and high school there before attending the Norton Gallery and School of Art, and later the College of William and Mary. Her award winning art - created in several media - has been displayed in galleries in Florida and Virginia. She has published several limited editions of prints, and awards included four consecutive First Place honours at the Virginia State Fair in Richmond, Virginia, USA. She also has the honour of having won the Florida Crawfish Art Stamp for 1994-95.
Her commissions include drawings, paintings and lithographs for notable organizations and individuals including the Palm Beach County Medical Center, the Duke University Department of Orthopaedics, Atlantic University in Virginia Beach, singer Tammy Wynette and actor Burt Reynolds, to name but a few. Other works have been donated to raise funds for charitable causes.
