About the Artist

Born 1931. AB Notre Dame, MFA Indiana University; studied with with Robert Laurent, Alton Pickens, and David Smith. Exhibitions to date number 310. David is included in numerous collections including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Guggenheim Museum.  He currently resides and works in Coventry, Connecticut, USA.

Awards and Honours:
Silvermine Guild Sculpture Award; New Haven Festival of Arts Best in Show; Boston Arts Festival Drawing Award; Chicago Arts Institute Logan Prize.

Post Doctoral Fulbright for study in Paris, 1961. Guggenheim Fellowship awarded and arranged to follow Fulbright.

David represented the United States at "Forma Viva" Sculpture Symposium, Portoroz, Yugoslavia, 1963 and is the recipient of the National Institute of Arts and Letters Award, 1965.
