About the Artist
"I emigrated to Australia from the UK in 1979. Since my arrival in Australia I have constantly tried to improve and hone my skills as a sculptor. In 1983 I began working full time at my studio foundry in Adelaide, using the lost wax technique for the casting of my sculpture in bronze.
In 1985 I moved to Perth Western Australia where I continue
to cast all my own work at my studio in Roleystone. The themes for
my work are mainly derived from the unique flora and fauna of the
Australian bush. I have a particular interest in trying to capture
those moments of cognitive awareness that often occur between us and
our fellow creatures. The Indian Ocean just off the coast of Perth
provides me with a rich sculptural resource."
