Artist's Statement:
"Through different postures, people send
signals, communicating without word. I find the acquisition of
knowledge and skills in non-verbal communication makes every
encounter with another person an exciting experience. By observing
people's gestures, I explore the non-verbal aspects or implications
of face to face encounters.
This has led to a body of work in which the intent is to show issues
through modern women's postures, attitudes and emotions. There are
also references to transitions within gender and culture. By
creating wild, semi-surreal sculptures that resonate with different
moods, I have found the prefect way to express my imagination."
