Query Language
The text search engine allows queries to be formed from
arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords
AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses.
For example:
oil canvas
finds documents containing 'oil' or 'canvas'
oil or canvas
same as above
oil and canvas
finds documents containing both 'oil' and
'canvas'
oil not canvas
finds documents containing 'oil' but not
'canvas'
(oil not canvas) and Australia
finds documents containing 'Australia', plus 'oil'
but not 'canvas'
web*
finds documents containing words starting with 'web' |
